Nashville's Looking Good!

So, it's been a couple of weeks since the Showdown finals and I'm still on cloud nine....but I have been pretty busy meeting with labels, agencies...lots of people that could be very very important to me in the future.  Now I'm trying to focus on what will be best for me, my career, and my friends and family.  Its just crazy how things are working out...not just with music but with my life.  For instance, my dog Mimi is currently 7 lbs and she just keeps getting cuter and cuter...I mean, I guess she takes after her mother (me, of course).  Now, something else that is going well...I'm pretty sure that myself and skinny jeans are now friends...actually we're bff's.  I used to hate on skinny jeans so bad...and now, I just can't get enough of them.  "Can't stop till you get enough." I still haven't been able to meet Carrie...but I did have a dream that I met her the other night and I'm pretty sure that's a sign.  Woot!  Oh, I have enough Colgate toothpaste to last me a lifetime...aaand I may or may not have the new travel little toothbrush that you can carry in your purse and use after meals....GOLDEN!  Lastly, I'm writing a ton right now and I put up a lot of new songs on www.karladavismusic.com under the music tab...just click soul sessions and let me know what you think!  Oh oh, be sure to check colgate's website for a list of dates of when the Colgate Country Showdown will be aired in your area!!!  Thank you sooo much for taking the time to read my blog.

Maybe I should call it a Klog .... you know, like Karla and Blog together....

Just an idea,

Karla

COLGATE COUNTRY SHOWDOWN WINNER!

Wow wow wow! So, it's been a few days since I won the national final of the Colgate Country Showdown and I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it.  #1 amazing fact: LeAnn Rimes touched my back and smiled in a picture with me...and she looked like she really wanted to be my friend.  Yes...that happened aaaand I have a picture to prove it.  haha, she was great. ...Darcy, thanks for the pictures! So I competed against 4 other acts from around the country and they were wonderful.  We were all so different, so I knew it was going to be a toss up for who would win.  My entire family was there and so many friends were there to support me...so THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!  I was the last performer so I was a little nervous, but once I started singing I was juuuuust fine.  I sang Keep Movin' On and Whiskey's Got a Job to do...and I guess the judges loved it because they decided to pick me to win.  Woooooot!  Now, people were crying, cheering, and, yes, my dad jumped up on his seat and screamed for his "baby girrrrl!!!" haha OOooh dad I love you!  The Showdown gave me some great exposure and a few labels were interested...so Gabrielle got meetings set up with them...so who knows what happens from here.  But, I do know that I am so blessed and this all just seems like such a dream.  PS - I haven't heard from Carrie Underwood yet...I mean, I was hoping for a phone call or maybe a house visit, but I guess she's just waiting because she thinks I'm probably busy.  Carrie, if you're reading this, feel free to come by anytime...I just bought a new pack of the EL Fudge Cookies and Double Stuffed Oreos...and we all know that everyone wants to be friends with someone with cookies.  Also, I have a new song called "Rocking Chair" that I am planning on recording and putting onto soul sessions this week...so stay tuned!!  Thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to send me messages about the showdown...I appreciate you all so much!
